More than four years ago I made the decision to become a personal trainer. It was scary to make a career change after more than a decade in public relations, but I loved how being active made me feel, I wanted to learn more and I wanted it to become a bigger part of my life.

Confident Motion was born out of my belief in an active, healthy lifestyle that allows you to be strong, confident, and energetic so you can be you, do what you love and feel great doing it

And here we are.  I have grown more than I could imagine since that decision and touched lives along the way. This blog is the continuation, as well as the beginning of the next chapter – confident motion evolution…

Fitness Expert

I’ve discovered so much being a personal trainer. One of the best things to hear is how someone is psychologically more confident and physically stronger after working with me. Even one small exercise can change someone’s life and improve their movement everyday. And everyday I discover new ways to improve my movement.  You can find me working out at Bay Club, or just playing at the playground – pull ups, monkey bars, push ups, you name it – I’ve probably tried it.

I also love writing about fitness. Some of my work has appeared on StilettosOnTheGlassCeiling for the last couple of years and can now be found here on ConfidentMotion.

Public Relations/Marketing Consulting

As much as I love fitness and thrive on it, a big part of my heart and mind also belongs to Public Relations. I have more than 10 years of experience working at worldNY agencies with a variety of consumer brands including Nike, Starbucks, Fage and Vespa. My hope is that I can help smaller (especially fitness-oriented) companies grow and thrive through public relations and marketing consulting and sometimes just being an extra hand or a sounding board.

My PR/Marketing Consulting covers many areas and is tailored to the clients needs, but may include:

  • Branding and communications consulting
  • PR/marketing plan development
  • Assessment of current efforts, assets, successes and challenges
  •  Brainstorming/ideation, as well as research (competitors, trends, market, etc.) and prioritizing strategies and tactics to set the brand up for success
  • Consistency in communication – key messages, email newsletter, streamlining & planning
  • Idea sourcing, content creation, strategy and POV on opportunities and launches
  • Newsengine – tracking & sharing relevant news/happenings, developing an annual strategy for media/blogger outreach, identifying key reporters/bloggers/outlets, pitch ideas, and actual outreach
  • Branding opportunities – community relationships, introductions and meetings, vetting charity and other opportunities for relevancy and to maximize participation value and cost, identifying networking opportunities
  • Event development/management from ideation to execution
  • Assisting with any marketing content/collateral development
  • Regular calls with updates on progress and tracking
  • Annual planning and assessment of strategy and tactics
  • Intern Program development and implementation
